About Peking Chef

Located at 184 S Wyoming Ave, Kingston, PA 18704, Peking Chef operates as a chinese restaurant serving Kingston in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 AM–9 PM. Note that it does not open on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Peking Chef at (570) 283-1188; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, pekingchefpa.com.

Its Google rating stands at 3.2 out of 5 from 241 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Kingston is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Kingston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Individual behind counter was the most obnoxious person I have ever seen. My husband will not go in anymore and today the way I was greeted was my last time also. He asked me what I ordered and when I said walnut chicken, in a miserable voice said you didn’t order from me we don’t have walnut chicken, I showed him my phone order and he said that is called happy chicken not walnut chicken, he goes to the back and gets my order and I said you have it. I said to him, you should have known what I meant by me just saying walnut chicken.I showed him the menu and how it has Happy Chicken ( walnut chicken). He just wants to argue with you. I will never go back . He needs to realize we support him, give us respect .

Good food, unfortunately man working/server extremely rude. My 88yr old Mother accidentally knocked over her soda. I could here the man say loudly "oh great" comes out with a mop as he's mopping we both say , im so sorry. Doesn't speak to us. Does not bring my mother another soda. When I asked him too he brought her a 1/2 glass. Worse experience ever in a restaurant. Will never return

Grew up in this valley but never ate here so recently my husband and I decided to try it. We ordered a pick up and yeah we were a little early but I didn’t think that warranted how rude the cashier was. And honestly after eating now I’m no longer sad I never tried them. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and it tasted like shit. Never had soggy sweet and sour chicken. That was nasty.

The guy at the counter definitely cussed me out in Mandarin (or possibly Cantonese, idk, but prob Mandarin) under his breath while I walked out with my order. One time I arrived "too early" and was chastised for it. The next time I was running late by 10-15 minutes and I got a *phone call* from the store about it. I guess to be safe you should be there at the *exact* time the site says or the guy will make passive aggressive comments to you the entire transaction about how untimely you are. I gotta say, the food was good both of those times, BUT this location is a lot more hit-or-miss than the Dallas location. That wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the passive aggressive guy at the register. He should be removed from a customer service position or at least get some intensive emotional therapy. tl;dr You had better arrive within Β±5 minutes of the estimate of when your order will be ready or the guy will call you out and be passive aggressive towards you.

I LOVE Peking Chef! I used to eat there daily when I worked at Wyoming Valley Mall. I recently saw the same Panda Logo I remembered and found out they were in Kingston. I drove from Tamaqua PA. to get it (an hour plus). The food was as good as I remembered, and now I take a weekly drive up to get it! It is worth the drive! The food is always hot and delicious! My favorite dishes are the Garlic Chicken extra spicy (I get 5 stars), Ginger Chicken, extra spicy, and the Pineapple Chicken Fried rice! Don’t forget to grab a homemade Vegetable Roll while you are there! The man and lady working there always take good care of me. I’m glad after all these years I can eat my favorite food again! I will come back again and again because the food is authentic, delicious, and a great value! Great Job Peking Chef!!!
